As part of the Burgas Maritime Festival held on 30 May – 2 June 2018, city of Burgas will develop an impressive exhibition of 3D models of sunken ships, interactive map of the bottom of Black sea with disappeared objects and interactive games for children explorers.
The events will focus on marine archaeological research of sunken ships and settlements in the Bulgarian Black Sea waters and the importance of the seas. The attractive exhibition “The hidden secrets of the Black Sea”, an international scientific conference dedicated to underwater archeology and development of an interactive map and games for children will be arranged.
The “Hidden Secrets of the Black Sea” exposition will be exhibited at the Casino Cultural Center from 31 May to 30 July, 2018. One of the halls of the Casino will be completely transformed to resemble the underwater Black Sea world. The exposition will include 3D models of sunken ships, found during the latest expedition in 2017, as well as artifacts found on the seabed. An interactive map of the Black Sea bottom with wrecks will allow the visitor to get detailed information about sunken ships or missing settlements.
Interactive games for children will welcome the youngest visitors in the Cultural center.
At the international scientific conference, which will take place from 31 May to 03 June, Bulgarian and foreign scientists will present the latest developments on the topic of archaeological research and discoveries in the Black Sea. The alleys in the Sea Garden of Burgas will present an exhibition of posters with the latest achievements of archeology in Bulgaria.
Partners in the realization of the events are the National Archaeological Institute, the Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Sozopol and the Regional Museum of History in Burgas.
